In Calke Abbey Park, now owned by the National Trust. St Giles was Calke parish church until 1834, but is now a private chapel. Barrel organ by Flight & Robson installed c.1865 ex unknown location. The organ is located in the west gallery, only accessible from the tower, and is operated from the rear, blown by the crank handle. Castellated oak Gothic case with dummy pipes (5-9-5). It stands behind an American organ placed at the front of the gallery. Stop list: Open Diapason 8’, Stop Diapason 8’, Principal 4’. Five green carriage-mounted barrels of which four survive. Barrels 1 & 2 are labelled ‘Flight & Robson, ORGAN BUILDERS to His Majesty, 101 St Martin’s Lane, LONDON’, 3 & 4 are by Charles Lincoln of Great Bowden, one is unnamed.
